Here at Old Creek Ranch
we believe Mother Nature knows best. That's why
our products are grown in harmony with nature. The
Valencia and Naval oranges are sweetened to perfection
by the warm sun filled days and the cool moist
nights thanks to the unique climate of the central
coast. Our orange juice is all natural 100% juice
and delicious beyond description!
This fruitful climate has
allowed our Haas Avocados to stay on the
tree longer and because of this they acquire a
truly rich and nutty flavor. All of our fruits
are pesticide and herbicide free, thanks in large
part to our foraging chickens.
Our orchards receive the benefit of natural fertilizer
from our free ranging hens. This is worked into
the soil by the chickens themselves. Their constant
search for food makes for an all natural tool
in incorporating the fertilizer into the top soil.
The animal impact helps enhance the diversity
of the plant/grass species making for an environmentally
friendly habitat.
Our pastured hens roam free
in the orchards busily eating what nature intended
them to eat. This, along side the certified
organic feed we supplement them when needed, is
the reason our eggs are higher in Omega 3 fatty
acid and lower in cholesterol by 34% (eatwild.com),
not to mention the beautiful orange color of the
yolk.

This
is our definition of "harmony in nature."

Predator
friendly, we believe that every animal plays an
important part in the sustainability of the ecosystem.
It is not unusual to see coyotes and bobcats roaming
through the herd on their daily forays.
The
wildlife habitat, which is very much dependent
on grazing, has been enhanced. We have seen a
growth in the population of eagles, burrowing
owls, mountain lions, and deer.
